Sodium Molybdate. Na₂MoO₄ • 2H₂O; mol. wt. 241.98. Anhydrous salt 85.11%, H₂O 14.89%, Na 19.01%, MoO₄ 66.10%, MoO₃ 59.49%, Mo 39.65%.

White, cryst. powder. Loses its water of crystallization at 100°. Soluble in 1.7 parts cold water, about 0.9 part boil. water.

Use: Reagent for alkaloids and other substances.
